Vasoconstriction: Cold beverages cause vasoconstriction, or tightening of arteries and veins. As you drink something cold, if you have vasoactive headaches or headaches from increased pressure, vasoconstriction can make the pain worse. This is the same reason you get a headache when you eat ice cream too fast! hope that answers a question for you and have a great night!
