How long before black stools clear?

Depends on the cause: If black stools are due to bleeding from the stomach it may take few days with the treatment of underluing cause like gastric erosions, ulcers etc.If they are not due to bleeding and from eating certain foods, meds and taking iron than it will clear if you stop the iron or the foods which are causing it.
