A member asked:

Can lipomas be cancerous if you've had melanoma?

Lipomas : Can turn into liposarcomas, when they become large and when they are located deeper parts of the body, not just under the skin. I am not aware that melanomas are related in any way to malignant degeneration of lipomata.

Not usually: Lipomas and melanoma are not a related diseases. A lipoma is usually not cancer. Rarely a lipoma can be cancerous and it is usually in someone older than 60.

No relationship: Lipoma and melanoma are two distinct diseases. So having a melanoma has nothing to do with having a lipoma or having a liopoma turing into a cancer.
