Are boils on the nape of neck life threatening?

First, don't pick it, stick it or squeeze it.If it's small, like a pimple or small boil,see if your body can deal with it using a warm compress.Anything else,get it looked at in person by a doctor,who can decide what needs to be done and/or if you need any medications,or if tests are needed
