Probably normal: They tend to be more pronounced in fair skinned and thin individuals. However the veins on the back of the hands tend to become more prominent as we age and lose fat in the skin. Some are seen as green or blue which really has to do with its size and closeness to the skin. If this is a concern please check with your doctor or a vein specialist.

Normal.: Hand veins can become prominent for many reasons but the most common is certainly hereditary . Other factors would be level of hydration, aging, sun exposure and loss of elasticity and volume. Actually, I am amazed at the amount of women that i see with bulging hand veins. They are almost always normal variations but , if bothersome, they can be treated with laser or sclerotherapy.
