Varies: You asked how long a bacterial vaginosis infection stays in the vagina. If a woman treats the infection, the antibiotics cure the infection in 3-4 days, and the antibiotics work in about 85% of women. Sometimes the infection comes right back and needs to be treated again. If no treatment it may be there for weeks or months.
