They can be related.: Kidney stones can occur when there is an imbalance of electrolytes and water in the urine. Not drinking enough water is the most common cause of kidney stones. Burning tongue can also be exacerbated dehydration. Try drinking 13 cups of water a day and see if your symptoms decrease. That is roughly 3 liters of water a day.
