Caution: More important than absolute dose of restoril, (temazepam) which shouldn't exceed 30 mg at night, are frequency and duration of use. With daily use for over a month you can become tolerant to its benefits for sleep and anxiety, but experience withdrawal if you don't take it, so you use it to avoid withdrawal even though it no longer helps. Avoid using more than 4 nights/week; try to use for under 3 months.
