Bullae where?: Bullae are blisters on the skin and there are several serious systemic diseases with blisters that can involve the lungs and many other organs. You're probably asking about bullous emphysema where a lot of the supporting tissue is gone and there are big open areas or blebs that look like blisters on the lungs. Stop smoking.
