Not very likely: The most fertile time of a woman's cycle is about 14 days before the next period is due. Sperm can live inside a woman's body for up to 5 days. So you are unlikely to be very fertile by 3 days before your period. That being said, it is safest to assume you are fertile and use whatever type of birth control is best for you.
