Why does listerine leave a white film?

While film: After using an antiseptic mouth rinse like listerine, occasionally the alcohol can cause the buccal mucosal tissue to slough. May seem like it is peeling off the cheek. Switch to an alcohol free type of mouth rinse. Read the labels to make an educated choice.

Typically it: Doesn't. It is possible that you are having a response to the listerine rinse. Perhaps try a different brand and see if the problem still exists. Crest pro health is a good rinse. Hope this helps.
