Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) : Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) is used commonly in inflammatory arthritis and is a disease modifying remitting agent. It is added as additional agent to Methotrexate and other drugs to control inflammation with goals toward remission . Though slow to act it helps reduce usage and dose of other drugs which are associated with higher toxicity . It needs to be monitored for side effects by an eye doctor

See details: It will take 6 weeks to 3 months to really work and may take up to 6 months to reach its maximum effectiveness.
