A member asked:

Is the bc pill only way to treat pcos? mom has history of blood clots with/without pill. i'm 32, non-smoker.

No: Some are using transdermal patches because they bypass the liver when metabolized so don't tend to increase clotting factors. A hematologist + endocrinologist and or gynecologist will be able to advise best. Other medications are also available, like metformin, for example.

PCOS: Bc is not the only way to treat pcos. It depends on what your goals are, though. Metformin has been used for that as well. I've had a lady whom i gave Actos (pioglitazone) and she was able to conceive and did well. Now having 2 kids.
