See an eye doctor!: Some chemicals can permanently damage the eye. If there is pain or burning, or if your vision is impaired, after flushing your eye, please have your eye checked at the nearest emergency room asap!

What you did was: Correct. Flushing your eyes with large amount of water should prevent any permanent damage to your cornea.
