Typically a few wks.: The tendrils and floaters tend to be absorbed over a period of weeks, and usually no further annoying images. On a positive note, the occurrence of a vitreous detachment lessens chance of spontaneous retinal detachment.

See a retina special: The key here is to be seen asap if your symptoms get worse. Cloudy vision and flashes tend to improve gradually over days/weeks.
