Takes a bit of time: Antibiotics may take a couple if days to kick in. It will resolve. Of you do not have fever pr any other symptoms and your doc has given you the ok youbshould be fine.

Infection vs...: ..."effusion:" if yo have pus in the ear, that's infection, but once pus is gone, you can have lots of mucus behind the eardrum for a while, and it will compromise hearing without causing pain or fever. Unless you need acute hearing for your sport, you can play. Caution: effusion can have an effect on balance, so i suppose you should avoid dangerous stunts in gymnastics.
