Increased : Perspiration can happen especially if oxygen levels are low.

Yes: Lying down causes the airway to narrow further and decrease flow. The body attempts to improve the flow by releasing Epinephrine which may result in sweats. Also low oxygen can result from decresed flow as well as possible sleep apnea which is increased in pts with emphysema. Treatment can include oxygen, bronchodilators and possible CPAP or bipap device.
