Im on doryx for acne can i start desogen (ethinyl estradiol and desogestrel) birth control?

Doryx (doxycycline): This is antibiotic, Doxycycline commonly prescribed for inflamed, infected acne. It does not prevent Acne with long term use. Why are you starting birth control pills? how long do you plan to be on the antibiotics? How old are you? I'm assuming you are female but you didn't even provide us with that information. All antibiotics can reduce the efficacy of birth control pills so use barrier as well.
