A member asked:

38 weeks pregnant botton of belly gets hard & cramping, is it normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Braxton-Hicks: You are term, so these could be early labor or still be braxton-hicks contractions, small tightenings of the uterus getting it 'in shape' for full blown labor. If the cramps get longer and regular intervals, then may be transitioning into active labor. Many women experience these in the couple of weeks before labor. Congratulations on your soon to be addition to the family!
