Yes, I think so.: It's actually a common complaint. Why? Because of mammal survival mechanisms - the flight/fight response - our bodies have automatic stress responses. These include increased heart rate, oxygenation to muscles via hyperventilation, gastric activity to void the intestines, etc. If you'd have to fight a predator or run fast to escape these would help you. Fairly useless for our lives, they persist.
