Plantar Fascitis: This could be inflammation of the supporting tissues on the bottom of your foot. If the symptoms continue for more than a few weeks then go see a podiatrist. This can often be treated with physical therapy, orthotics and appropriate foot gear.

Plantar fascitiis: Wear an arch support/ orthotic. A night splint is helpful, apply ice to that region when possible.

Heel pain: As previously mentioned heel pain can occur for a number of reasons and should be evaluated by a physician to determine the root. However, in most of my patients pain on the bottom is from plantar fasciitis (www.Drmarkgalland.Com 1/16/13), while pain on the back is achilles tendonitis or bursitis. Start with rice and if symptoms subside gradually return to activity, but it symptoms persist see doc.
