Conjunctivitis vs ?: There are many causes of red/pink eye. Itchy red/pink eyes might be allergic conjunctivitis while goopy red/pink eyes might be infectious conjunctivitis. Regardless, you need to be examined as soon as possible to get correct diagnosis & treatment.

Pink eye: If you have discharge, you need to be seen right away because you are infectious. If you have no discharge, you can make an appointment with your specialist eye md and wait. Many conditions such as allergy, dry eye, and autoimmune diseases can cause red eyes that are not infectious. Hope that helps!
