Merits evaluation.: Fluid retention is often associated with high blood pressure; however, it could be due to kidney disease, heart failure and other problems. It would be prudent to start with a visit to ones doctor for a careful history and physical exam, routine comprehensive blood tests, a urinalysis and perhaps an ekg and chest x-rays.
