Concerning: They should have been able to see a heart beat at 9 weeks. However, some times the pregnancy dates are off due to delayed ovulation. If a woman was a month off and was 5 weeks instead of 9, they might not see a heart beat on us. Perhaps your OB just wants to be certain your dates are correct.

Maybe: At nine weeks of pregnancy, embryonic heart beat is usual detectable by transvaginal ultrasound. Follow up ultrasound should help determine if the pregnancy is viable.
