A member asked:

If somebody says he's going to die from chf, what actually will cause his death? what happens in the body?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Multiple organs: Heart failure affects all the organs in the body, as the heart is unable to pump enough blood to meet the needs. The usual, immediate cause of death is accumulation of fluid in the lungs due to backing up of blood in the lung and liquid part of blood leaking out into the air spaces, pulmonary edema.
