Many possibilities: While a kenalog (triamcinolone) shot and antihistamines (benadryl) should help with hives they are treating the symptoms only (and it sounds as though they are ineffective for you). See an allergist or dermatologist who can take a complete history and physical (possibly a skin biopsy as well) to get a proper diagnosis and devise a more effective treatment plan.

Hives: Hives are annoying and unexpected, try avoiding steroids and use a daily antihistamine whether you have hives or not. Take a daily zyrtec or allegra (fexofenadine). Depending how long this has been going on, you may ultimately need to see an allergist to determine possible causes.
