Distraction is not : The answer. Distractions may work for the short term, but if you want to resolve your depression you need to take it on head on. Meet with a psychologist or other therapist and talk about the issues that are bothering you. They will help you resolve the problems. In time you will not need to speak about it as frequently in therapy and will know how to resolve things on your own.

Depression: You can distract yourself by being active, not being by yourself and becoming involved in novel activities. Distraction however will not resolve depression in the long run, you need to identify the causes and have help developing better coping skills. Consider seeing a mental health professional. Best.
