We don't know!: Rosacea involves a complex interplay between the envrionment(an "environmental trigger) and host immune response (a genetic component) leads to the dilation of surface blood vessels on the face. It is unknown exactly why antibiotics work against rosacea, but it may relate to their anti-inflammatory properties rather than their microbiocidal effects. (refer to www.Rosacea.Org/).
