Get it removed: Small metallic particles often get imbedded on the surface of the front of the eye in people who work with metal and under vehicles. The eye doesn't tolerate metal very well and gets progressively inflamed. Imbedded metal can require delicate removal under a microscope. It often comes out in pieces and can require specialized instruments. It is a totally painless procedure. See an ophthalmologist.
