Pregnancy urinalysis: No. Hcg needs to be measured in the urine to detect pregnancy, and the test for HCG is not included in a routine urinalysis or urine culture. The lab can send some of the urine left by a patient in a specimen cup for an HCG test, but only if this test was requested by the patient's health care provider.
