A member asked:

Would it be healthy for my dentist to leave my onlay too high?

No: Your bite should be adjusted to feel normal. A high spot on a restoration can lead to additional problems. If the bite doesn't feel right, return to your dentist for an adjustment. Hope this helps.

No: If the bite on your onlay is too high, you may eventually experience pain. See your dentist to adjust your bite.

Absolutely not....: If the onlay does feel high definitely return to your dentist to adjust it so it feels comfortable and all of your teeth are touching in harmony. Until then try to be careful eating in the area or chewing very hard stuff since prolonged pressure on the tooth will cause you some discomfort or pain.
