Maybe, but....: Why not see someone face to face, which is a better way to talk about things? There are places where you can get free or low cost in-person therapy. Check with local universities that have graduate programs in psychology and counseling, agencies like family service agencies, catholic charities, or united way. Since you asking this question from ny city, there are many places available.

In person : While I understand that people have different reasons for seeking online counseling, nothing can substitute for counseling done in person. If you have insurance, see what your mental health benefits are. If you do not have insurance, see if you qualify for either Medicaid or Medicare. Mental health benefits are part of both of those programs.
