Would a brain ct scan usually be enough in detecting meningitis?

Spinal tap: Diagnosis of meningitis is not by ct scan, but spinal tap. Obtaining cerebrospinal fluid allows your physician to find out about severity of the meningitis, as well as help find out what organism caused it. This information is important for treatment.
