Yes: In general, a ct scan can be safely administered to diabetic and or elderly patients. However, if intravenous contrast is going to be administered, at a minimum kidney function should be evaluated, certain medications should be temporarily discontinued, and certain precautions should be taken.

I am 40 yrs old. No health problems. My urine test for five years show mild high albumin. Blood Creatinine 0.7. BUN normal. CT scan normal. Albumin 24 hr 55mg. ACR 0.1. PCR 27. Creatinine 24 HR 2.1 grams. Protein 24 hr 208mg. No diabetes. bP 11/7.5?
