Could it be a good idea to go to urgent care if you think you have strep throat?

Depends: It would help confirm and start treatment if you did. However, the complications of strep throat are prevented if you get treatment started within the first 9 days of the start of symptoms.If you know you could get in to see your regular doc in that timeframe it could wait.Yet you would also potentially be spreading it to others over the wait period.Just do what is best for your situation.
