A member asked:

I was just wondering what's the chance if we did have kids that they would develop crohn's in later life if we voth have it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

1 in 3: Crohn's disease (cd) is a complex disease involving both genetics and environment. With regard to genetics and heritability, the likelihood that a child with both parents affected with cd will get the disease sometime during their life is somewhere around a 1 in 3 (33%) chance, and may be higher.
