See answer: Cranberry juice can produce an acidic urine, which some bacteria that cause urinary tract infections will not be able to survive in, so there is some credibility to this 'mom's tale.' however, be aware, this may help for some minor uti's but most may need to be evaluated and treated by a physician to assure the appropriate tx is rx'd. No: Although the theory is accurate, acidifying your urine with cranberry juice sufficiently to do this would require enough juice to almost drown you. Go and get treated by your doctor, unless of course you have nothing else to do but drink cranberry juice all day. Hope your UTI clears up soon.
