See below: This is a discussion that you need to have with your opthamologist and/or optometrist. The eyeball in a small child has not finished growing so contacts, if they used them, would not work for long. Also a small child does not have the cognitive ability to look after contacts.

Yes: In children who require the use of contact lenses, for example for the optical correction of aphakia (after cataract removal), there are both hard and soft lenses available.
