A member asked:

I'm just wondering, if you have bad eyes can you skip glasses and go straight into contact lenses?

Not recommended: Even if you choose to use contact lenses as your primary means of correcting your vision, you need to have a pair of glasses as well. This is because there are situations in which you cannot wear your contacts, and you must have a back-up. The glasses do not need to be new or even the best prescription, but usable so you can safely drive and work.
