Can psychosis cause confusion of the personality?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: If someone has a psychotic illness such as schizophrenia, the personality can be disordered also. Psychosis, or a loss of touch with reality, can cause a sufferer to feel confused when unable to distinguish reality from fantasy, false beliefs (delusions) or hallucinations (hearing voices or seeing things that are not really there).
