What would cause a short spur of complete disorientation/ dizzy spell. it lasts less than 2 seconds and doesn't happen much, but when it does?

Petit mal seizure: This could be a form of epilepsy called petit mal seizures. Assuming you are not using illicit drugs or too much alcohol you should see a neurologist and probably have a brain wave test (electroencephalogram).

Fleeting: In my experience symptoms that are serious always last more than two seconds. However if you still have concerns, I feel that a neurologist would be a good choice to evaluate and advise you.
