Radiograph: Unless the skull fracture is very severe as with an object protruding into the head, you cannot diagnose a fracture without an x-ray or a cat scan. A concussion may occur with or without a loss of consciousness. The general symptoms include headache, nausea, difficulty focusing mentally, dizziness, ringing in the ears, trouble sleeping (both too much and too little).
