A member asked:

Do people ever permanently lose memory from a concussion?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: If you are concerned about a specific memory such as that around the time of the concussion, that is likely to be permanently lost as the patient is frequently unconscious for a bit of that time. If you are concerned about losing the ability to remember things-short term memory- this is usually transient. It may be a permanent problem. This is more likely, the more severe the head injury.
