Yes: Colposcopy & biopsy are procedures used to evaluate abnormal pap smears. Usually the biopsy site is treated with topical medicine to avoid bleeding. The cervix has a good supply, however, so that spotting & bleeding may occur. If persistent, follow up with the doctor who did the biopsy for evaluation. They would want to know if you're bleeding.

Normal: It's VERY important to get a colposcopy if your pap is abnormal. A colposcopy is a speculum exam where special stains and magnifying lenses are used to look for pre-cancers on your cervix. If there are abnormalities, your GYN will take a biopsy, which is uncomfortable, but lasts
