Dry socket home care: A dry socket is a topical infection of the boney socket of an extracted tooth. The clot (the primary healing system)has been lost to abrasion, suction during swallowing, smoking, dissolved by alcohol etc. To get the healing going again, home remedies do not work. But you probably heal anyway. But it takes a lot longer. Seek out the dds/dmd who did the work . They will/ should treat it for free.

Dry Socket: A dry socket is not an infection; it's an inflammation of the bone. You should see the dentist or oral surgeon who performed the extraction. First of all, you need to make sure it's just a dry socket and not something more significant. Your surgeon can determine that and quickly relieve your pain. In the meantime there's little you can do besides pain medicine and antiseptic mouthwash.
