Hereditary myopia: There may be several causes of myopia one of those being hereditary. Lack of outdoor activities and close activities have been associated with more likely to cause myopia then the other way around.

Not really: Attempts of various sorts have been tried to re-inforce the globe and apply drops and systemic medication to limit the growth. All of these have failed. Your best bet is to get frequent examinations to ward off any problems or damages.
