Could be colitis: Some infections can cause bloody diarrhea. Ulcerative colitis and crohn's disease can do this too. He needs to see a doctor for evaluation of his bloody diarrhea.

Bloody stools: There are many causes for bloody diarrhea from an infectious process, inflammatory bowel disease or a cancerous process.It is imperative that you see your physician as soon as possible for proper diagnosis and treatment.
