Areola: This could be infection but rare conditions like paget's disease of the breast which is a cancer of the nipple has to be ruled out .You should see your doctor .Sometimes inflamation if superficial veins on the breast may cause a disease called mondors disease which can sometimes falsely look like thickened cords or ligaments underneath your breast. You should see a doc.
