Treat the cause: The peroneus is the muscle on the front of the lower leg, outside the tibia. There are lots of potential causes for peroneal atrophy including mal-positioning of the end of the fibula near the knee. A do, skilled in osteopathic manipulation, should be able to evaluate, diagnose and hopefully treat the cause.
