A member asked:

If one avoids exercise all their life, is one prone to muscular atrophy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Use it or lose it: Yes, the human body is very efficient in the way it maintains itself. If muscle is not used, then it will be broken down (atrophied). Likewise you will lose bone density as it responds to lack of mechanical stress as it remodels.
